Jackson Arts Council Awarded $150,000 Grant

The Jackson Arts Council is pleased to announce we have been awarded an American Rescue Plan grant of $150,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to help the arts and cultural sector recover from the pandemic.

"We are honored to be one of 66 local arts agencies nationwide, and one of 3 local arts agencies in the state of Tennessee, selected to receive this funding,” said Lizzie Emmons, Executive Director of the Jackson Arts Council. “Thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, the Jackson Arts Council will play a critical role in the financial recovery efforts of arts and culture in our region.”

The Jackson Arts Council will open applications for NEA grant funding for Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, and McNairy Counties in early 2022. Information about the application process will be shared with the public when applications open.

Eligible applicants for funding include*:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations

  • Units of state or local government

  • Institutions of higher education

  • Federally-recognized Indian tribal governments

  • Individual artists
